Web-based Applications
I stumbled upon Google documents, etc., quite by accident a year or so ago. I was fairly familiar with what was there. I didn't know Zoho Writer existed so I liked exploring it. The Zoho calendars, reminders, etc. are something I plan to experiment with since I need all the help I can get remembering things both here and at home. I liked the format of the Zoho Writer documents. I guess it all sort of reminded me of CT and Excel but with a different look.

WIKI WORLD
Several months ago I accidentially came across Wikipedia. I have been back several times because I think it's an interesting site. I like it because it is an ever changing, work in progress type of web site. I could see it's usefulness in several library areas and I think Chad Boeninger's "Biz Wiki" is a good example.

# 15 - On Library and Web 2.0
I think of all the articles I enjoyed "Away From the Icebergs" the most. For some reason when I read how everything library has "dramatically in the last decade" I was amused. I was just thinking yesterday how far this library has come since I started here in 1979. To think I use to spend my mornings with an electric eraser (I still have the callus to prove it) changing the holdings in our periodical card catalog. And those awful half cards...I hated those things.
To say that technology in libraries is constantly changing is a huge understatement!

#14 - Technorati
Ok, I liked this exercise better than #13 - Del.icio.us. There is so much information here that it's a little overwhelming, but regardless I do plan to spend some more time with Technorati when I have some down time.
I confess...I really wasn't all that thrilled when "Learning 2.0" surfaced, but it's been extremely educational and fun. Did I just say fun???

#13
Oh my! I didn't care for Del.icio.us at all. Looking at it was like information overload to me. Like most Internet tools I'm sure it's useful...to somebody, but not me. I'm ready to move on to #14. Here's hoping I like it better!

Rollyo
This was interesting. I selected travel & hotels. After making my selections I was amazed with the number of entries that appeared. I don't know for sure that I'll use this again, but it's nice to know it's there.
I guess the one thing I've learned from this blogging experience is all the useful sites that are out out there that I knew absolutely nothing about.

Library Thing
I didn't bother to scroll down and see all the other exercises we are suppose to do until about 20 minutes ago. I did Image Generator and stopped there. Oh well, I realized the error of my ways, created a library thing account & the link is:
http://www.librarything.com/catalog/brownt1 (catalog)
I don't know how much or even if I'll use this, but it was something I didn't know was out there.

Week 5
This was sort of fun & funny at the same time. I had a difficult time deciding what I wanted to use, however I ended putting my little cousin on a $1.00 bill. Personally I think he looks quite handsome there.

RSS Feeds
I have to confess...this really intrigued me. It's not something I would have tried on my own, but it was really very easy and the having the information so readily available is amazing.
